Two Dance Unlimited members, Amanda Montoya-Downs and Whitney Thompson, were in charge of the contest.  Montoya-Downs said that a portion of proceeds would be going toward a charity of the winner’s choice, and the rest will be going to their spring show this week on April 29 and 30.

“The winner will get a $50 gift card to a restaurant, four free tickets to our spring show, and the title of Mr. Rhythm 2010,” Montoya-Downs said.

The contestants for Mr. Rhythm 2010 were Brad Fuller, John Cormier, James Porter, and Ricky Rascon.  All agreed  they were excited about participating in the contest.

“I’m both excited and nervous,” Cormier said.

“I’m excited! Learning the dance was fun,” Fuller said.

“I think that they did fabulous.  It was a really hard dance to learn in such a short amount of time,” Montoya-Downs said.

Cormier and Porter said they would be choosing Fisher House as their charity if they win.  Fuller said that he would support the Military Heroes Campaign and Rascon would select Push America.

Who will be Mr. Rhythm 2010?

“I think that who ever is more flamboyant will win,” Cormier predicted.

“Definitely me!” Rascon said.

“I don’t know; it’s going to be really close.  It will be whoever the crowd likes better,” Fuller said.

At the end of the contest, the finalist were announced as Mr. Fuller and Mr. Rascon.

Rascon said that while he was performing, he thought, “Act as crazy as possible.”

“I’m pretty excited.  It was really close and hard on all of the judges,” Fuller said.
